This fabulous car was produced by Ford's Lincoln -Mercury Division and was one of last of the big American prestige cars produced before the '73 oil shock caused a progressive cut and chop downsizing of big American cars to a shadow of their former selves. There never will be another car like this!
This car has everything - in its day it was the class leader in big block prestige big car customer surveys- dual petrol gas, electric frameless windows, power seats, central locking, remote mirror control, whisper air con, cruise control, pneumatic opening headlights, with the 429 Cu. in (7.0 L) V8 up front producing 386 horsepower, the traffic just gets out of the way and jaws drop when this beautiful machine hoves over the horizon.
A true head turning show stopper in immaculate original condition, it is unique in Australia. Three were imported at the time. This is the only one I know of that has survived.
I have owned the car for about 10 years. Previously, it was owned by a professional car restorer who took it down to the bare metal and gave it its current stunning paint job. Always garaged and professionally maintained in top running condition, it has lived a comparatively low mileage protected existence - odometer shows 32,500 miles. I take it on weekend runs, averaging only about 1000 km a year. Tyres have done less than 5000 miles.
This car can cruise effortlessly at 80-90 mph in the country (although given today's speed limits I would never go that fast.......)
I have a number of other cars and am only reluctantly selling this one because I have limited space and time to drive them all.
