45 special edition Abarth’s slated to arrive in local dealerships this month from $69,990
discount new cars  » Get the best price on a new Abarth When it arrived in Australia earlier this year, the majority of Abarth’s hot 695 Tributo Ferrari models sold before they even hit the showroom floor. Now, another 45 models are up for grabs with the local importer saying “you’d want to be quick”.

Built as a tribute to the historic performance links between Ferrari and Abarth – the Italian pair’s legacy most memorably personified in the unique 1953 Ferrari 166/250 MM Abarth.

Claimed by its maker as the “ultimate” Bambino variant -- the 225km/h Tributo Ferrari edition hits 100km/h in less than seven seconds. The Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged T-jet 16v engine developing 132kW/350Nm and is mated to Fiat’s MTA (Manual Transmission Automated) electromechanical gearbox.

Riding on 17-inch alloy wheels the pocket rocket is arrested by four-pot Brembo disc brakes and rides on a specially-tuned suspension package. A modified, dual-mode “Record Monza” exhaust is also fitted, delivering what Abarth says is an “inspiring sound” north of 3000rpm.

Inside, lightweight carbon fibre seats by Sabelt, a black leather steering wheel with contrasting red stitching and Jaeger instrument panel top the feature list.

“First we were stunned by the performance and then blown away by the demand, with Australian dealers selling out within hours,” said Abarth Australia’s GM, Andrei Zaitzev. “There was, therefore, only one thing we could do: Get on the phone and plead for more cars for Australia. And it worked! We now have another 45 Abarth 695 Tributo Ferraris en route to Australia and that means another 45 Australians are going to be the very lucky owners of the bambino with the Ferrari genes!”

The Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari is available from $69,990 (MRLP).
