Citroen has released its all-new C4 five-door hatch in Australia this week, raising equipment levels and technology for an entry-level price of just $22,990.

Standard features for the base model include an automatic transmission, central locking, front power windows and cruise control; selected models adding
Bluetooth telephony, blind-spot monitoring, massaging seats and USB connectivity.

Further, new micro-hybrid e-HDi models feature new engine technology Citroen says can reduce C4’s average fuel consumption to as low as 3.8L/100km.

Slightly larger than its predecessor, new C4 offers more interior and cargo space. The cabin decor is centred by a one-piece, soft-touch dashboard punctuated with chrome trim highlights. All controls and ancillary items are said to be “driver focussed”, while particular attention has been paid to NVH attenuation.

“The original C4 was one of the most significant vehicles in the history of Citroen,” explained Citroen Australia GM, Miles Williams. “The new Citroen C4 adds a new maturity to the original car, a new standard of technology and comfort, a new level of value for money and, as such, is more than well placed to repeat the success of predecessor.”

The new Citroen C4 arrives in Australia with a choice of four petrol and four diesel engines, with a choice of three trim and equipment levels. Pricing is as follows:

C4 Attraction 1.6 (88kW) Petrol $22,990 (man.) / $22,990 (auto.)
C4 Seduction 1.6 (88kW) Petrol $24,990 (auto. only)
C4 Seduction 1.6 (82kW) Diesel $26,990 (man.) / $27,990 (EGS auto.)
C4 Exclusive 1.6 (115kW) Petrol $31,990 (EGS auto. only)
C4 Exclusive 1.6 (82kW) Diesel $31,990 (man.) / $32,990 (EGS auto.)
