New all-electric luxury hatch from Infiniti promises "Inspired Performance"

Nissan's luxury arm Infiniti has released a rendering of its first all-electric vehicle, the compact five-seat hatch said to feature the very latest in high-performance zero emissions motoring.

The sketch was shown by Infiniti's senior vice president, Andy Palmer, during a ceremony to mark the opening of the latest Infiniti showroom in Piccadilly, London, and adheres closely to the Japanese brand's "Inspired Performance" design philosophy.

Infiniti have confirmed the as yet unnamed EV will be launched in 2013 with pricing and full specification to be revealed closer to launch.
