2008 Sydney Motor Show: FPV celebrates five years in business with a special model built in a 200-unit production run

Ford's joint venture with Prodrive began five years ago when the local manufacturer and the British automotive consultancy established Ford Performance Vehicles to sell high-performance vehicles modelled on Ford's Falcons. More recently, FPV has expanded into the development and sale of the F6X, a modded Territory Turbo.

Celebrating the largely successful years since opening its doors, FPV has released its 5th Anniversary model, based on the GT sedan. Limited to just 200 examples, the limited edition model is priced at $71,890, a price premium of $5300 over the donor car, but with $9600 worth of extras.

FPV has chosen to build the 5th Anniversary edition in just two colours, 'Lightning Strike' or 'Silhouette'. The car is identified by striping, an exclusive decal and a special multi-spoke design of alloy wheel in a 19-inch diameter and finished in Alpine Silver.

Brakes are upgraded to a six-piston Brembo system. Inside, the car boasts a build badge, unique floor mats and sports seats in Nudo leather -- featuring a 5th Anniversary logo embossed in the headrests.

Other standard features include: dual-zone climate control, a leather-bound sports steering wheel, electric windows front and rear, cruise control and a six-disc premium audio system with iPod integration.
