Holden Racing Team V8 Supercar drivers Mark Skaife and Garth Tander are getting behind men's charity 'Movember '. Skaife, who has announced his retirement, and Tander have signed the bonnet which was fitted to the Commodore they drove together in the Supercheap 1000 race at Bathurst last month.
This bonnet is now receiving bids on eBay, with all proceeds to go to Movember. As part of the deal, the winning bidder will take delivery of the bonnet also signed by the -- as yet unnamed -- driver who replaces Skaife in the HRT.
The reserve is $300 and the bonnet, which features Holden's one-off 60th Anniversary livery, can be viewed here, with bidding to close at 11:15am on November 29.
Movember raises money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and national depression charitable organisation, Beyond Blue. This year's target for Movember aims to exceed the $16.2 million raised last year.
"This is a one-off chance for motorsport fans to get their hands on a piece of Holden Racing Team history," said Alan Batey, Holden's Executive Director of Sales, Marketing and After Sales.
"The bonnet is autographed by the great Mark Skaife and will be the first piece of memorabilia signed by the driver that replaces him at HRT.
"We expect bidding to be very competitive and that helps us raise vital funds for these two very important causes."
Movember was first held three years ago and has since raised $8.5 million towards finding a cure for prostate cancer -- a disease that kills 2900 sufferers each year in Australia -- and reducing male depression, which afflicts one in six men.
