Citroen reveals facelifted C4

July 2008
Freshened small car to reach Australian market around the middle of '09, with BMW engines

Citroen has unveiled a restyled C4 ahead of the new car's international launch at this year's Paris International Motor Show in October.

Cosmetically, the upgraded small car is no major leap forward, but it will go on sale in Australia approximately 12 months from now, with BMW-developed petrol engines.

The new 1.6-litre engines will replace the current 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre four-cylinder engines powering the C4. One of the new engines is a naturally-aspirated powerplant developing 88kW of power and employing variable valve timing; the other is a turbocharged engine developing 110kW of power.

Externally, the facelifted C4 will feature new alloy wheels and the colour selection will be enhanced with four new colours. New velour and leather trim materials combine with special interior colours to lift the cabin ambience. Citroen's interior designers have relocated the tachometer to the major instrument binnacle.

Local Citroen distributor, Ateco Automotive, cannot provide any further details on specification or pricing for the local market, but more information will be announced as the local launch approaches.
